"Bossa Nova desafinada" is a series of paintings of a nostalgic memory of Brasil that inevitably happened during quarantine. The lines are driven by music, and the colours are distant memories of all live Bossa. Every painting is a homage to a song or artist.

Paraphrasing a recent article in ELLE Brasil, "How subtle mechanisms of racism ended up erasing Johnny Alf's fatherhood in the creation of one of the most important musical movements in Brasil."
Alf was black, homosexual, of poor origin and introspective, despite being friendly. In a report on the true father of bossa nova, made by Nilton Corazza, musician, journalist and editor of the digital magazine Teclas & Afins, I recovered a speech by Alf justifying his little adherence to the movement and the little repercussion of his first official work, the album "Rapaz de bem", released in 1961, when the bossa was already formalized (and whitened): "This may have been a result of my temperament. I was always away from the crowd, because I am very suspicious of people. The problems I had in life they created relationship difficulties. In a group, I was never safe. "
Alf has said of his own music: “I always played in my own style […] I had the idea of joining Brazilian music with jazz. I try to bring everything together to achieve an agreeable result”.
